After identifying the brand purpose early this year, Mead Johson quickly moved forward to translate the purpose into actions. First act was to empower moms in the work-place. This requires sharp insights of the big barriers to moms's success at work as well as specific challenges moms are facing.
We knew at the very beginning moms of 0-2 y.o. babies are often stressed so our first priortiy is to make sure the process is relaxing. We invited them to a quiet, cozy comtemperaty tea house where they can overlook the gardens, and contemplate. Instead of asking questions, we empowered them to be the storyteller. We used a mix of exercises and tools to dive into their deep psychological space, e.g. a meditative time to draw up their emotioanl journey, finding their just-started-working self in OH children cards. We simply sat there - listen and empathize. Tears dropped, silence embraced, bond created.
Rich, deeply touching as well as painful, frustrating stories from these real life moms were made into a stroy booklet. The room fell silent after we presented the stories and the challenges moms are facing. We all knew we needed to do something for them. They are not, and should not be alone.
